The proposed work is located in Coconino County at the I-40/4th Street bridges and the I-40/Butler Avenue Interchange in the City of Flagstaff. The work consists of widening and replacing the existing bridges at the 4th Street Underpass (UP) using the slide method of construction and rehabilitation of the existing bridge decks at the Butler Avenue Overpass (OP). Additional work at 4th Street includes construction of the widened roadway approaches to the bridges and the installation and removal of detour crossovers to maintain traffic on I-40 during construction. Additional work at Butler Avenue OP includes replacement of guardrail on I-40 and repairs to the existing sloped pavement and concrete barrier.
